"Glee" star Jane Lynch acted as emcee, using a megaphone to announce winners during the first Chopper Dropper fundraiser in support of Palmetto High School’s rowing team Saturday at River Wilderness Golf & Country Club in Parrish.
Two thousand golf balls sold by numbered ticket at $50 each were dropped in batches from a helicopter onto the targeted green.
Two lucky ticket holders from Palmetto — Dennis Stinson and the Patten family — had their golf balls fall into the hole and will split the $25,000 grand prize.
More than $40,000 was raised for the team. The money will be used to purchase new equipment.
