Man robbed at his Palmetto home

MANATEE — A 36-year-old man was robbed at his home by a gunman he found standing in his driveway, according to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The man went inside his home in the 500 block of 20th Street West in Palmetto and then returned outside to find the gunman, who ordered him to lie down on the ground at about 8:30 p.m. The man complied and was robbed of his wallet.

The suspect, who was described as having short dread locks and wearing a beanie, black Army jacket and jeans, fled north through an apartment complex.

A sheriff’s dog tracked the suspect about eight blocks before losing the trail in the 2000 block of 21st Street East.
