Sheriff: Teen stabs mom’s boyfriend with steak knife

MANATEE — An 18-year-old boy was questioned by investigators Wednesday night after he allegedly stabbed his mother’s live-in boyfriend with a steak knife, according to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeffrey Schueller, 18, was charged with domestic aggravated battery. Kenneth Crouse, 38, who resides at the residence in the 6900 block of 43rd Court East and dates Schueller’s mother, received a superficial wound from the stabbing.

Crouse and Schueller began arguing over household chores. Crouse then allegedly strangled Schueller by pinning him up against the wall and choking him. When Scheuller broke free, he retaliated by picking up a knife and stabbing Crouse.

Crouse was also arrested and charged with domestic battery.

Neither one required medical transport, according to authorities.

Two of Scheuller’s siblings were inside the residence when the incident occurred. One of them called 911 at about 6:45 p.m.
