76-year-old man dies in Skyway Bridge motorcycle crash, FHP says
A 76-year-old man died Sunday after losing control of his three-wheeled motorcycle on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes near Milepost 12, troopers said.
Troopers say the man, from Pinellas Park, was riding a Spyder motorcycle when he swerved to avoid a collision with an unknown vehicle.
He veered onto the shoulder and struck the outside guardrail, according to FHP.
The motorcycle then reentered the outside northbound lane, where the rider was ejected, troopers said.
