36-year-old man killed in New Year’s Day shooting, Manatee deputies say

A 36-year-old man died in an overnight shooting on New Year’s Day, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of 18th Place East in Bradenton to reports of a shooting around 12:27 a.m., according to a news release. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound lying in the driveway, the sheriff’s office said.

Manatee County EMS later pronounced the man dead, deputies say.

As of Thursday afternoon, no one has been arrested.

“The shooter and all involved parties have been located and accounted for,” the sheriff’s office said.

However, the circumstances around the shooting remain under investigation, according to the agency.
