A portion of Ellenton Gillette Road, which had closed Monday morning due to a water main break in north Manatee County, reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.

County officials issued the emergency road closure notice Monday morning for Ellenton Gillette Road between 21st Street Court East and 29th Street East due to a 12” water main break.

“Road will be closed until all repair activity completed,” the notice states.

Following the road closure notice, the county also issued the boil water notice “for our customers on Ellenton Gillette Road from 61st Street East to the address of 2415 Ellenton Gillette Road,” according to the notice.

“Customer is advised that once service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution,” the notice states. “A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.”
