Cafe Barrister in downtown Bradenton closes for good

Downtown Bradenton office workers now have one fewer option for lunch, but potentially not for long.

Bill Constanzo, owner of Cafe Barrister, said some members of the “Barrister family” had fallen ill and “it’s taken the wind out of our sails.” The sandwich-and-salad cafe closed for the last time on Aug. 11.

Costanzo will focus on his executive consulting business and said he’s retired from the restaurant industry. He wouldn’t disclose who will take over his lease at 316 12th St. W., but said it will be another restaurant and “they should be opening as soon as they get their new gear in place.”
