Outback Steakhouse to open in the Middle East

Soon you'll be able to order a bloomin' onion in Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

Tampa-based Bloomin' Brands announced plans to develop 26 Outback Steakhouse and Abbraccio restaurants in the Middle East over the next five years, according to a press release. An agreement with SNASCO Trading Company will add 15 restaurants to Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, including eight Outback Steakhouse locations and seven Abbraccio restaurants. The company already operates five Outback Steakhouses in Saudi Arabia.

Abbraccio is a chain that Bloomin' Brands launched in Brazil in 2015, which is meant to be the international version of Carrabba’s.

Another franchise group, Al Majid Jawad, has committed to opening 11 Outback steakhouse locations in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. Jawad already operates an Outback Steakhouse in Qatar.

Bloomin' Brands is one of the largest casual dining restaurant companies in the world. It operates around 1,500 Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar concepts in 48 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and 22 countries, including Brazil and South Korea. Some restaurants are franchise locations.
