MANATEE -- More Bradenton-area residents are crossing over to a new style of fitness and that means expansion for at least one area business.
CrossFit Bradenton recently expanded to meet the demand for more fitness challenges.
Virtuosity Fitness Inc. owners Paris and Beth Vannata operate their CrossFit enterprise in 7,000 square feet of space leased from 33rd Street Condos LC. The new gym, 3210 59th Drive East, is twice as large as the previous location.
CrossFit Bradenton moved to the building adjacent to its former space to accommodate eight indoor spinning bicycles, Paris Vannata said. The facility now offers spinning classes that they weren't able to accommodate.

They hope to add more equipment as they settle into their new space, he said.
And Bradenton CrossFit isn't the only CrossFit gym experiencing growth.
According to Google Trends, "CrossFit" was consistently searched worldwide more often than "Gold's Gym," "LifeTime Fitness," "24 Hour Fitness" and "Planet Fitness" since late 2011.
Vannata attributes growth to the style of CrossFit workouts.
"It's constantly varied," Vannata said. "Workouts are different every day; it's never boring. And I think a really big part of it is the community we provide."
CrossFit Bradenton memberships run from about $125 to $175. Vannata said CrossFit gyms are more expensive because though it's not one-on-one attention, workouts are more personalized than at other big-box gyms.
Kimmy Griffin, who works out at the Seaward CrossFit facility in Sarasota, said the variety and intensity of CrossFit workouts keep her going back.
"It incorporates my love of gymnastics, which is something I did for 15 years," Griffin said. "It incorporates all different types of movements and it's satisfying at the end of every workout."
Griffin's 7-year-old daughter enjoys Seaward CrossFit's program for kids and her and husband participates in CrossFit workouts with her.
CrossFit Bradenton averages about 60 people a day, Vannata said.
Korri and David Sheppard took over the 2,800 square-foot Manatee Cross
Fit at 5757 Manatee Ave. W. about a month ago. In their first month, Korri Sheppard said they gained at least one member a week. On an average day, CrossFit Manatee sees about 40 members working out. They also see a few drop-in clients who are stopping in for a workout during their vacation, she said.
