Thomas Seguin the owner of Suncoast Gems has been awarded the certified insurance appraiser designation by the Jewelry Insurance Appraisal Institute. The designation recognizes Seguin's knowledge and professional experience in appraising gems and jewelry for insurance purposes. As the administrator for Suncoast Gems, Seguin is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the firm as well as directing the operation of the gemological laboratory and handling the management of the gems and jewelry sales and brokerage operation.

Alicia Armstrong has joined Coastline West Realty of Florida's Bradenton office as a sales associate. She is the company's 10th new associate. Armstrong, a Clearwater native, has been an actively licensed real estate agent since 2012. She also works as a pre-school ministry director.

Veronica Brandon Miller and Rick Hughes of Goodwill Manasota are taking their feel-good message celebrating philanthropy to the airwaves with a new radio show, "Tell Me Something Good." The show, which airs on Sundays on WSRQ (98.9FM, 106.9FM and 1220AM) at 11 a.m., focuses on the good happening in the community, highlighting individuals, nonprofits and businesses that give generously of time, talent and treasure. Miller serves as the vice president for the Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Goodwill Manasota. She moved to Sarasota nine years ago from Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Smithsonian Institution and the Navy League of the United States. She earned her bachelor's degree in marketing and graphic design from Boston University and her master of business administration from the University of Maryland. Hughes serves as director of Community Outreach for Goodwill Manasota. He worked for more than 20 years in the real estate business. He moved to Sarasota in 1997 where he was the manager of the Michael Saunders & Co.'s Palmer Ranch office.

Johna Kennedy-Preston has joined Kerkering, Barberio & Co.'s healthcare advisory services team as a senior medical consultant. She has been in healthcare consulting for approximately 15 years. Kennedy-Preston is a certified professional coder and a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders.
