Dental practice set to expand presence

Dental Care Alliance, a Sarasota-based dental practice management firm, is hoping to expand its presence in East Manatee County.

The company submitted a proposal to the county Oct. 9 to expand its existing office building by adding a 12,000-square-foot building onto its location at 6240 Lake Osprey Drive in Sarasota.

The two-story office building will be built at the northern portion of the land, according to the county's current case list.

Upon receipt of approval from Manatee County, construction is slated to begin Nov. 1 which an expected completion date of Nov. 1, 2015. There will be 123 parking spaces.

The proposed expansion has been marked as "rapid response," which Barney Salmon, the project's planner for Manatee County, said is a speedier review because the project already meets certain county requirements.

Karen Stewart, the county's economic development program manager, said the project was marked as rapid response because it is an expanding company with an average annual wage that is 115 percent of the 2012 local average annual wage of $41,164; creates a minimum of five new jobs for Manatee County and "provides high-end training or research to a customer base of 65 percent from outside the two county region."

The project's owner/client is Triangle DDS (Lakewood Ranch), LLC. Dental Care Alliance did not return a call for comment.
