Realtor safety class to follow training

MANATEE -- In light of the recent kidnapping and murder of Realtor Beverly Carter in Arkansas, the Manatee County Crime Prevention Unit will conduct a Realtor safety class.

The class is set for Oct. 15 following a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) training program at the Keiser University Auditorium, 6151 Lake Osprey Drive, Sarasota.

"It is important for Realtors to be aware of their surroundings and learn ways to prevent becoming potential victims of crime, even if they don't attend this seminar," said Mary Howard of CornerStone Title, whose father was a Manhattan detective who helped catch Son of Sam, wrote the book Blue Domino, and helped Nicolas Pileggi write Wise Guy.
