Life science company moving into larger Venice facility

SARASOTA - Enzymedica Inc., a life sciences company and a provider of therapeutic enzyme supplements, is moving into a renovated new, larger location in Venice.

Enzymedica recently announced plans to relocate from Port Charlotte to Venice, a move that will allow the company to expand its laboratory and production facilities. The company also plans to add 72 employees to its staff of 50 over the next five years, said Mark Huey, EDC president and CEO. Enzymedica is receiving $432,000 in state and county economic development incentives to make improvements at its new 41,000-square-foot building in Interstate Business Center on Jacaranda Road.

On Friday, the company will celebrate the move with Sarasota County commissioners, as well as representatives from the company, the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County and MyGreenBuildings, the company’s general contractor for the project.
