Home prices continue to drop in Bradenton, region

Home prices in Bradenton, as well as Sarasota and North Port, have continued to decline in September and October compared to a year ago, according to data released today by CoreLogic, a provider of information, analytics and business services.

Home prices, including distressed sales, declined by 4.9 percent in October 2011 compared to October 2010 and declined by 5.3 percent in September 2011 compared to September 2010, the data showed.

But if you exclude distressed sales, year-over-year prices increased by 1.1 percent in October 2011 compared to October 2010 and declined by 1.8 percent in September 2011 compared to September 2010.

Home prices in the U.S. decreased 1.3 percent on a month-over-month basis, the third consecutive monthly decline. According to CoreLogic. national home prices, including distressed sales, also declined by 3.9 percent on a year-over-year basis in October 2011 compared to October 2010. This follows a decline of 3.8 percent in September 2011 compared to September 2010.
