MANATEE - Sales activity and median prices for Manatee's existing homes rose in August, according to date released today from the Florida Realtors Association.
Condo sales locally also were up from a year ago, although pricing had dropped by 10 percent, the data showed.
Sales in the Sarasota-Bradenton area increased by 15 percent from August 2010 to 867 from 755 for single family homes. The median sales price increased by 7 percent from $150,300 in August 2010 to $155,600 last month.
Sales on condos increased 7 percent from 240 a year ago to 256 this August. Median condo sales price though dropped from $136,500 to $123,300.

Statewide, sales activity also was up 15 percent from a year ago, according to the Realtors group. The statewide median sales price for existing homes was $137,500, up 2 percent from $134,900 a year ago. Statewide condo sales were up 17 percent from a year ago and pricing was up 12 percent.
