Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce honors Caldwell Trust as top small business

Caldwell Trust Company of Venice was honored as small business of the year at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce’s Frank G. Berlin Sr. Small Business Awards ceremony Friday at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.

SunCoast Blood Bank was named nonprofit organization of the year, and Manatee County’s Mixon Fruit Farms was honored as hospitality and tourism organization of the year. Caldwell Trust Company also was named professional services business of the year.

Three other small businesses and organizations received awards during the 27th annual event, which was attended by more than 400 business and community leaders.

Other award winners include: Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota, health care and wellness organization of the year; Coast to Coast Pools of Sarasota, products and services business of the year; and DutchCrafters of Sarasota, retail business of the year.

The Frank G. Berlin Small Business Awards are made possible through the support of the Frank G. Berlin Sr. Foundation.

Berlin became chairman of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce in 1946 and was the driving force behind the formation of the Sarasota YMCA. The awards program was established in 1991.
