BCS’s “Prowl” to benefit Vautrinot family

BRADENTON — Proceeds from Bradenton Christian School’s annual “Panther Prowl,” to be held Saturday, will benefit the family of a school coach who died last week in a weightlifting accident.

Don Vautrinot, who died at his home Jan. 18, was the school’s junior varsity girls’ basketball coach and varsity girls assistant basketball coach and also organized the annual Panther Prowl 5K event.

The race begins at 7:30 a.m., and registration is at 6:30 a.m. To register for the Panther Prowl, go to www.bcspanthers.org/5k. Registration is $25 for adults and $20 for students. Businesses can also sponsor the event for $100. Bradenton Christian School is located at 3304 43rd St. W.
