Tampa Bay area residents have a cold weekend in store.
A second cold front contines to move across Florida, bringing a shot of cold air this weekend. The previous cold front brought Wednesday's rain.
According to Bay News 9 Meteorologist Juli Marquez, today's conditions will be cool, partly cloudy and windy at times today as the cold front moves across the state.
"As the cold front pushes south, the colder air will settle in behind it,'' Marquez said. "Temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s across the area today.''
A freeze watch will be in effect for Friday night into Saturday morning in Hernando and Citrus counties. Temperatures there may dip into the 30s early Saturday.
Below normal temperatures are expected during the weekend. Highs will only reach the lower 60s across the area Saturday afternoon and remain even lower in some areas.
The chilly conditions will begin to change by Sunday afternoon, when a slow warm up is expected to start.
