Cold and rain coming to Bradenton, Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to spend a nice day outdoors may want to do so today.

After another warm and pleasant day, a cold front moving across the Gulf of Mexico will bring rain and wind to the Bay area on Wednesday, and another cold front expected Friday will bring cold - but not too cold - air for the weekend.

"Be ready to use your umbrella (Wednesday) and wear a jacket later this week," Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez said.

Marquez said the high chance of rain will begin Wednesday morning and continue through lunch time. The rain will end in the afternoon and cooler temperatures will follow.

After cooler temperatures on Thursday, the second cold front will drop weekend temperatures to the low 60s in the day and the low to mid 40s at night in the Bay area.
