Canadian rowing team arrives in Bradenton

BRADENTON — A squad from the Canadian National rowing team, based in Toronto, will be among the newcomers training on the Manatee River this year.

Also expected are returning athletes representing top colleges like Harvard University, which will again use Parrish’s Fort Hamer Park as its winter headquarters.

Early Thursday, rowing shells from Northeastern University swept beneath the DeSoto Bridge in downtown Bradenton after its team arrived Wednesday.
