Manatee man injured in strong-arm robbery

MANATEE -- A 36-year-old man suffered a three-inch laceration to the back of his head when he fell after being struck in a strong-arm robbery about 7:35 p.m. Sunday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported.

The victim said he was robbed of $1,000 in the 2800 block of 14th Street West, but was very intoxicated and could not give a detailed description of the attacker, according to a sheriff's report.

A witness saw the attack from across the street. During a show-up, also known as a lineup, the witness was unable to positively identify the attacker and no arrest was made.
