Two arrests made in connection to Bradenton stabbing

MANATEE -- Two arrests were made in connection to the stabbing of a man who showed up at Manatee Memorial Hospital with stab wounds, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Angela Hamilton, 48, and Wallace Edwards, 58, were charged with premeditated attempted murder and booked into the Manatee County jail on Monday. They are both being held on $500,000 bond.

On Dec. 9 at about 9 p.m., a 52-year-old man from Palmetto showed up at Manatee Memorial Hospital with several stab wounds, the sheriff’s office reported Saturday.

The man was taken to Blake Medical Center for surgery on life-threatening injuries, according to a media release. He was in critical condition Saturday.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Dave Bristow said it was a domestic-related incident. Hamilton allegedly slashed the victim’s stomach with a box cutter, Bristow said. When the victim began to struggle, Edwards also stabbed him in his side and back, Bristow said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
