Manatee man charged with burglary on 57th Street West

MANATEE -- A man was arrested and charged with burglary today after he was discovered in a home in the 4400 block of 57th Street West, Bradenton.

John Pappas-Pappakostas was discovered in a bedroom of the home at 9:30 a.m. by a person who had stopped by to feed the owner’s cats while the owner was out of town, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Pappas-Pappakostas ran west from the home when discovered and a K-9 unit was called to locate him, the report states.

The suspect was spotted walking on 67th Street West toward Cortez Road when he was stopped and arrested, the report said.

Pappas-Pappakostas was charged with burglary and was being held at the Manatee County jail on $10,000 bond.
