Students in Manatee County Schools would begin classes on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, and end classes on Friday, June, 7, 2013, according to a proposed school calendar for the 2012-2013 school year proposed by Manatee school officials.
Notices and copies of the draft calendar are being sent to local newspapers and other media, the teachers’ union, and to each school in the district with information about how to provide input.
Information about the proposed calendar is also posted on the front page of the Manatee District’s website under “Hot Topics.” You can visit the website at www.manateeschools.net.
Students, parents, district employees and the general public are invited to provide input regarding the proposed calendar through Jan. 13. Input can be sent via email to Mike Wilder, the Manatee district’s coordinator of school leadership development, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wilder can also be called at (941) 708-8770, ext. 2247. The input will be collected and given to Superintendent Tim McGonegal for his consideration.
The 2012 - 2013 Academic School Calendar will be presented to the school board for their consideration at their regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 23 at 5:45 p.m. in the Board Room at the School Support Center.
The School Support Center is located at 215 Manatee Ave. W., in Bradenton.
