MANATEE — A school bus driver could have been hurt or even killed when part of a cement block was thrown into a moving school bus at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday.
The fragment, which measured five inches long and three inches wide, shattered the window of the bus as it was in the 1900 block of 26th Avenue East, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report does not indicate if any students were on the bus at the time of the incident.
But the report does indicate that the block can been seen from the video camera inside the bus coming through one window behind the driver on the driver’s side of the bus, the report states.
The camera does not show a suspect, only the object coming through at a speed which would have caused great bodily harm or death if the driver was hit, the report states.
