The National Weather Service was calling for sunny skies and a high temperature of 81 in Bradenton, with north-northwesterly winds of 6 mph to 9 mph. Tonight, temperatures will drop to about 59, followed by a sunny encore on Thursday.
But for Thursday night forecasters said there was a 20 percent chance of rain and a low of 53. On Friday -- Veterans Day -- temperatures were expected to rise only to 71 in Bradenton, according to the Weather Service.
Sunny skies were predicted for Friday and through the weekend, with temperatures again climbing into the low 80s.
