MANATEE -- Temperatures in the Bradenton area were expected to drop through the area as rains clear away to make room for a cold front.
There was a 30 percent chance of rain before noon, and by 5 p.m. the temperature in Bradenton was forecast to drop to 73, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight's low was expected to be 60.
The cooler temperatures will arrive with gusty winds from the west. This afternoon, forecasters said winds would be 17 mph to 23 mph, with gusts of up to 32 mph. Tonight, the winds were suppose to drop to 11 mph to 15 mph, with gusts of 21 mph.
For Thursday, forecasters were calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high of 74 and winds of about 11 mph coming from the northwest, according to the Weather Service.
