BRADENTON — Bradenton Police Department officers received a Crime Stoppers tip leading to the arrest of a 23-year-old man wanted for attempted murder Thursday.
The tip was called in and given to officers leading to a residence where Mariano Betancourt was inside, said Bradenton Police Capt. Russell Tibbitts.
Palmetto Police Department detectives issued a warrant for Betancourt’s arrest after he reportedly beat and robbed a 63-year-old man last month.
The man was attacked on Nov. 3 in the 500 block of 12th Street West. As a result of the attack, the man sustained a serious head injury that has since left him hospitalized, according to police.
Betancourt has a bond set at $125,000 and remains in the Manatee County Jail.
