Salvation Army in Bradenton seeks coats, socks

BRADENTON -- The Salvation Army could use a little help keeping Bradenton's homeless warm during the ongoing cold snap.

Julia Showers, who helps coordinate the Salvation Army shelter’s response to homelessness during the cold, said men’s coats and socks are needed.

“Last time we got plenty of blankets,” she said. “Everybody likes warm feet.”

Showers also said any women’s or children’s winter apparel would be welcomed for the family shelter.

“That’s definitely something that’s desperately needed,” she said.

Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army, 1204 14th St. W., Bradenton.
