MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is trying to help a local family locate their son.
Eliyas Rene Negron, 11, is not believed to be in danger, but due to his age a media alert was issued, the sheriff's office said.
Eliyas is 5-foot, 3 inches tall, weighs 80 pounds and has short brown hair and hazel eyes. His family lives in the 3500 block of 19th Street West, Bradenton.
Eliyas did not come home from school Friday. His mother, Nathasha Velez, stated that he called home from school several times possibly to ask if he could spend the night at a friend’s house as he did in the past. However his mother was unable to answer the phone and is not sure if he tried to call her or went to a friend’s house. The mother does not know who his friends are or where they live.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the boy should contact MSO at (941) 747-3011.
