MANATEE -- The Manatee County Health Department has lifted a health advisory issued for Coquina Beach North.
Advisories for two other beaches -- Bayfront Park North and Palma Sola South -- remain in place.
The health issued the Coquina Beach advisory on Aug. 11, after water tests revealed excessive amounts of fecal bacterial indicators that may cause human disease, infections or rashes. The contamination may come from storm water runoff, pets and wildlife and human sewage.
The county monitors conditions at 10 sites each week under the state's Healthy Beaches Monitoring Program.
