A 42-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly stabbed his ex-wife and beat her with a wrench, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
An undercover Bradenton Police Department officer spotted a woman walking down 14th Street West on Saturday night carrying a knife, according to authorities.
The woman had a stab wound to her upper arm and was struck once in the head with the wrench. After she was seen on the street, she went back to an apartment located above businesses in the 1100 block at about 9:26 p.m., said Sgt. James Racky on scene.
The woman was located inside and taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment after officers forced their way in, he said.

Three officers using only shirts to cover their faces found the woman and her two children inside the apartment after they came upon a bottle of acid spilled near the doorway, Racky said. It reeked of gas, he said.
Two SWAT team members with gas masks then cleared the upstairs apartments before Bradenton firefighters arrived on scene, Racky said.
The woman told officers she was stabbed at the residence by Carlos Alberto Lopes, who then fled her apartment, he said.
Officers were able to later locate Lopes and arrest him on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, Racky said.
