MANATEE -- Two armed men intercepted two restaurant owners when they returned to their home in the 3200 block of 40th Avenue West shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday.
One of the victims was grabbed from behind and punched in the face. The intruders pushed the victims into their house, closed the door behind them and demanded money, according to a report released today by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The victims, fearful of more violence, surrendered $800, a purse and a cell phone.
The intruders fled south toward Cortez Road in small white vehicle driven by a third man.

One of the victims suffered a laceration over his left eye and was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
