Manatee man charged with armed robbery

MANATEE — Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old man on charges he robbed and assaulted another man early Sunday, the agency reported.

Douglas Dean Moore II, of 5711 Second Ave. NW, Bradenton, was charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and probation violation, according to jail records.

Moore is accused of robbing another man of $60 in the 1100 block of Orlando Avenue West at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a sheriff’s report said. He also is accused of striking the victim with the gun, giving the victim a busted lip and a chipped tooth.

Moore reportedly fled, but was later stopped by deputies down the road. The victim declined medical treatment.

Moore is on three years’ probation after pleading no contest on April 1 to attempted robbery, court records show. He remained jailed Monday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
