Erin Brockovich talks to Gulf Coast residents

BILOXI - Environmental advocate Erin Brockovich will be on the Mississippi Coast on Saturday to talk to residents about their legal options concerning the Gulf Coast oil spill.

Brockovich, along with fellow advocate Carol Moore, will conduct two town hall meetings co-hosted by The Cochran Firm; Weitz and Luxenberg; and Levin Papantonio.

The first will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. at LB's Steakhouse at the Grand Biloxi Casino in Biloxi. The second will be noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Silver Slipper Casino in Bay St. Louis.

The meetings will be geared toward fishermen, business owners and others affected by the oil spill who have concerns about their legal rights. A consortium of law firms has filed lawsuits in response to the BP oil spill.

"The rig explosion and failure to control the oil slick is devastating wildlife, fisheries, tourism and everyday living along the Gulf Coast," Robin Greenwald of Weitz and Luxenberg said in a news release.

Similar town hall meetings are planned in Pensacola, Fla., Thursday and in Bayou La Batre, Ala., Friday.
