Bradenton woman escapes Manatee Glens

MANATEE -- Sunny Perez Chang, being held at Manatee Glens under a Baker Act, escaped from a secure room at noon today, according to the Manatee sheriff's office.

After she escaped from the room at 2020 26th Ave. E, sheriff's officials were contacted. The area was searched, but the woman was not located. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at (941) 747-3011.

No other information was released as of 4:45 p.m.

The Baker Act proceeding, established under Chapter 394 of the Florida Statutes, is a means of providing an individual with emergency services and temporary detention for mental health evaluation and treatment, either on a voluntary or involuntary basis.
