Fire engulfs Parrish home

PARRISH — Fire officials are investigating what appears to be an accidental fire set Wednesday night to a home in River Plantation subdivision located near Mulholland Road.

Firefighters from North River Fire District, Parrish Fire District and East Manatee Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire just after 7 p.m., said North River Fire Battalion Chief Michael Williamson.

The home on fire was a single-family two-story structure in the 2300 block of 124th Drive East. It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control. Firefighters were still looking for hot spots and smouldering embers at 11:30 p.m., Williamson said.

The fire, which remains under investigation, appears to have started in the garage and was started unintentionally, he said.

No one was injured.
