South side of Palma Sola Causeway reopened

BRADENTON - The south side of the Palma Sola Causeway has reopened following testing that determined that water levels are safe for swimming.

A force main break last week resulted in a spill of untreated wastewater into the south side of Palma Sola Bay. The city of Bradenton closed that portion of the beach and begin testing the water periodically to determine when it was safe to reopen it to swimmers.

The affected areas have been limed and washed down and the break was repaired.
