Masked trio mugs 3 men at Ellenton apartments

MANATEE — Three men were robbed early this morning while standing in the parking lot of an Ellenton apartment complex, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 3:50 a.m., three masked suspects — two armed with handguns, and one wielding a knife — approached the victims in the parking lot of the Oaks of Ellenton apartments, 3420 16th St. E., Ellenton.

The robber with the knife threw one of the victims to the side while the other two suspects pointed guns at the other victims.

The attackers demanded that one of the victims hand over his wallet. One of the suspects grabbed that victim and took about $70 and his cell phone, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspects then fled south through the apartment complex's parking lot.

The suspects were all described as standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. They were each wearing ski masks, according to the sheriff's office.
