Man robs Bradenton gas station

MANATEE — A man early this morning robbed a gas station/convenience store after he threatened to shoot the clerks, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The man entered the Mobil station at 5310 34th Ave. W., Bradenton, about 3:23 a.m. and demanded money. When he said he did not want to shoot anyone, a clerk opened a registered and the suspect reached over and grabbed some cash, according to the sheriff's office.

The man, who never displayed a weapon, then fled in a van north on 34th Street West.

The suspect was described as standing 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. He was wearing a black tank top and blue pants, according to the sheriff's office.
