Diocese of Venice raising money for Haiti relief

The Catholic Diocese of Venice, which serves a Haitian population that numbers more than 11,000 in 10 counties, is undertaking relief efforts in Haiti.

In addition to a special collection at all Masses this weekend), the diocese is also collecting donations through its Web site at www.dioceseofvenice.org. Click on “Haitian Relief” to make a donation.

You can also send donations to the Diocese of Venice in Florida, ATTN: Haitian Relief, 1000 Pinebrook Road, Venice 34285. Make checks payable to” Diocese of Venice: Haitian Relief.”

All money collected in the special collection and private donations will directly aid the victims who have been affected by the earthquake.

Also, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton is one of several parishes in the diocese that will hold a Mass in Creole. The Mass will be at 4 p.m. at the church, 1505 12th Ave. W., Bradenton.
