Man shot in Bradenton late Thursday

BRADENTON — Police early this morning were trying to identify a suspect in a shooting that left one man injured.

The man was shot about 11:50 p.m. Thursday, inside a house in the 500 block of 24th Avenue West. The house, which sits at the southwest corner of the intersection of 24th Avenue West with Fifth Street West, was surrounded by yellow police tape as officers interviewed witnesses, gathered evidence and waited for detectives to arrive.

A police spokesman said the injured man, who was conscious as paramedics loaded him into ambulance, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The spokesman also said officers had not been able to identify a possible suspect and no arrests had been made.

Several vehicles were parked in front and on the side of the house. In a side driveway sat a barbecue grill with what looked like several beer cans on top.
