Man robbed, cut in Manatee mugging

MANATEE - A 42-year-old man was robbed and injured by knife-wielding thief while walking in the 3700 block of 26th Street West late Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect cut both of the men's arms with a small pocket knife and stole his wallet. The robber took $250 in cash and the victim's identification out of the wallet and told him if he called police he had his ID and knew where he lived.

The suspect fled northbound on 26th Street West and threw the wallet down.

The victim refused medical treatment by paramedics.

The robbery happened about 9:45 p.m.

The suspect was described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He had a shaved head and a teardrop tattoo under his right eye.
