About 4 a.m., the suspects entered the residence in the 1000 block of 14th Street East, Palmetto, by prying open a locked garage. Two of the intruders were armed with handguns, according to a news release.

Two residents were held at gunpoint. They waited until about 8:30 a.m. to report the robbery because the suspects warned them they would be killed if they called police, the sheriff's office said.
