A tropical wave located about 700 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic Ocean is producing disorganized shower activity. Any additional development is likely to be slow, as it moves westward at 10 to 15 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The Hurricane Center said this morning there is less than a 30 percent chance that the system will develop into a tropical storm in the next 48 hours.
If the system is the first to develop into a tropical storm, it will be named Ana.
