Man wanted for pawning stolen construction equipment is arrested

MANATEE - A man wanted for pawning a piece of construction equipment reported stolen from a Manatee business was arrested today in Tampa, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Adam T. Arena is facing charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property, in connection with the theft of a backhoe from a rental business on 14th Street West. Arena rented the equipment on June 4 for one day, but instead of returning it, he took it to a Ruskin pawn shop and pawned it for $4,000, according to the sheriff's office.

Other charges alleging Arena similarly stole construction equipment elsewhere in Florida are pending, according to the sheriff's office.
