Manatee sheriff: Bank robber used pickup truck to flee

MANATEE — Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies have released surveillance photos from Monday’s bank robbery showing a getaway truck.

An older-model, white Ford, extended cap pickup with dark colored stripes on both sides is shown parked at the bank. The wide stripe on the left side is black or blue.

The pickup was caught on surveillance footage at the First Bank, 3005 53rd Ave. E. in Bradenton. It was last seen heading west on State Road 70.

The robber was described as a man about 50 to 60 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches and weighing about 250 pounds. He had gray hair and facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue coveralls, a white T-shirt and a light blue bandana under a light colored baseball cap. He wore latex gloves and was armed with a small silver semi-automatic handgun.
