MANATEE — A deputy backing out of a parking space to answer a call collided with another patrol car Monday, causing $4,000 in damage.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report, the deputies were in a squad meeting at about 7:20 p.m. Monday at the sheriff’s office, 600 301 Boulevard W., when a call came in about a fight in progress.
As the deputies began to respond in their patrol cars, one deputy backed out of a parking space and struck the right front fender of another deputy’s patrol car that was going down the parking lot aisle.
There were no injuries and both vehicles were drivable, although the estimated cost of damage was $4,000.
