Interstate 75 in Charlotte County was shut down this morning after a traffic crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of the interstate near the Peace River bridge.
Two television news stations reported that the accident involved a tanker truck carrying propane. The flammable gas did not ignite.
The accident was reported at 8:49 a.m., and the first troopers arrived at 9:22 a.m. NBC-2.com, out of Fort Myers, reported that northbound lanes re-opened at 10:45 a.m., but the southbound lanes remained closed.
