BRADENTON - A 61-year-old Bradenton man convicted last month of killing a man while driving drunk is scheduled to be sentenced for the crime today.
Paul E. Torrey II, faces up to 20 years in prison during a sentencing hearing at 1:30 p.m. today. A jury on March 6 found Torrey guilt of DUI manslaughter and DUI causing serious bodily injury charges.
Circuit Judge Debra Riva, who oversaw Torrey’s weeklong trial at the Manatee County Judicial Center, will hand down Torrey’s punishment.
Torrey on April 25 drove a white Ford van and struck a Harley-Davidson at the intersection of U.S. 41 and 49th Avenue Drive West.

The bike’s driver, 50-year-old Willie Swails, died from injuries he received in the fiery crash. Swails’ girlfriend, Kimberly R. Miller, who rode on the back of the bike, was injured.
